Barr Refrigeration Expands National ‘Coolers for a Cause’ Program to Support Nonprofits, Schools, Government Agencies, and Civic Organizations

From Pilot to National Expansion

Barr Refrigeration first piloted “Coolers for a Cause” with the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry in 2025. That pantry serves as a regional hub for The Emergency Food Assistance Program and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, distributing more than 3 million pounds of food annually and redistributing over 700,000 pounds to nearby pantries. The success of the pilot shaped the national expansion of the program to serve the full spectrum of community-serving institutions across the country.

Barr’s commitment extends beyond equipment. On April 20, Barr employees volunteered with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin at their Appleton facility, repacking and sorting food for senior citizens — a direct expression of the team’s dedication to the partners and communities at the heart of the “Coolers for a Cause” mission.
