Used Freezer Panels
Holding a space below freezing is a tougher job than keeping it merely cool—the temperature gap between inside and outside is wider, which means the walls and ceiling have to work harder to hold the line. That's the whole purpose of a freezer panel: heavier insulation that keeps the cold in and the energy bills down. And sourcing those panels used or surplus lets you stand up that performance for a fraction of new-build cost.

At Barr Refrigeration, our used freezer panels come out of quality systems and arrive ready to assemble, so you can build or expand a walk-in freezer without paying retail for the privilege.

Used 6″ Insulated Freezer Panels
Every freezer panel in our current stock is a 6″ insulated metal panel—and that thickness is no accident. The deeper insulated core is what gives a freezer panel the higher R-value it needs to maintain sub-freezing temperatures without overworking the refrigeration system behind it. Run thinner panels on a freezer and the compressor pays for it; the extra inch or two of insulation is what keeps the whole system efficient.

These panels come in a standard 42″ width, with lengths currently spanning from 10′ up to 22′, giving you the range to lay out walls and ceilings around your actual footprint. Each one pairs a thick foam-insulated core with durable metal facings—the construction that delivers both the structural strength to stand up as a wall and the thermal performance to hold a freezer load.

Why Buy Used Freezer Panels?

- Real savings on a premium product: freezer-grade panels cost more new, so buying surplus is where the savings land hardest
- Built for sub-freezing duty: 6″ insulation is sized for the demands of a true freezer environment
- Ready to install: panels arrive prepared to lock together, keeping your build on schedule
- A sustainable choice: putting quality panels back to work keeps serviceable material out of the scrap pile

Building or Expanding a Walk-In Freezer
Start by measuring your wall and ceiling spans so the panel lengths you order fit the layout cleanly, and remember that a freezer build also depends on the pieces around the panels—properly rated doors with heat wire to fight frost, and a tight seal throughout the envelope. If you're matching panels to an existing freezer or planning a new one and want a second set of eyes on the layout, our team works through exactly these questions every day.
